Acoustic Moment: “Wake Up Everybody” Cover By Tobe Nwigwe
One of the very best songs of all time is “Wake Up Everybody” originally performed by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. Wake Up Everybody which was released in 1975, is arguably the group’s best album. It was also the last album that Teddy Pendergrass would complete with the group before launching his solo career.
Nigerian rapper/musician of Houston Tobe Nwigwe performed a stunning cover of the record. Tobe and his family sat down together to give a deep, meaningful, version of the song that deserves all our attention. Tobe has exhibited not only an ability to dominate his own genre but also others. This is a brilliant exhibition of vocal skill and love of the craft.
