Album Review – Shadows EP by Zero 7
Ok close your eyes and let your senses take in this rad EP by Zero 7 titled Shadows. Zero 7 are an English musical duo consisting of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker. Most of the music people associate with the group feature the vocalist SIA. On this four-song set, the two incorporate the vocal stylings of Lou Stone, a very interesting new singer from London.
Check out the songs below.
Shadows featuring Lou Stone
Smoother than a purple velvet smoking jacking in the parlor with a spider right? Leave it up to Zero 7 to mesmerize the listener.
Take My Hand featuring Lou Stone
After hearing song number two, you really get to enjoy the strings that Zero 7 is known for. The lyrics are so beautiful in this song and the way Lou executes the melody is gorgeous! A nice pick me up to get you ready for the next track.
After The Fall Featuring Lou Stone
Ok, who doesn’t have goosebumps? Every strum on this song is a treasure, it’s almost like they’re teasing us with this stuff. It’s no wonder they get orchestras to cameo in the videos.
Outline Featuring Lou Stone
So glad to hear the organs implemented in this song. It is a sound that is not easy to incorporate into an arrangement. There is just enough to elevate the song without making it spongey. We love the way the artist chose to lay it down gently with the last track. It feels like a great ending compliment to the entire project.
