Kucka Releases Lit Debut Album ‘Wrestling’
Laura Jane Lowther, otherwise known as Kucka, lit the fuse on her career with her debut album Wrestling. Lowther has been wrestling in the studio for two years with this project, the finishing hold was quality. The Australian-born singer is now based in Los Angeles, which has put her fingers close to the taps that matter. As before mentioned, the mixing quality of this record is remarkable.
Kucka doesn’t sound like any other artist, she has a unique youthful draw to her voice. We like that there is no effort to bend the shape of her sound into something it’s not. The ascension of the album is a soft climb into a lofty electronic utopia you will struggle to pull away from.
The star went above and beyond all expectations and came through with a dagger. The album cover and the previously released singles of this project were directed by Dillon Howl, Laura’s wife. With Kucka doing most of the production herself, fans are getting a genuine product of the household. The two mixed up a perfect cocktail of electro, rock, and alternative. The results are splendid.
“Wrestling is a deeply personal album and releasing it feels like I’m passing around my diary for everyone to read — liberating and vulnerable at the same time, my hope is that as people immerse themselves in the world, they connect not only to the music and lyrics but also themselves.”
