Must-Have Album Review: Hotel Surrender By Chet Faker
Fresh, furious, and back to his beloved alias, Nick Murphy is becoming an iconic figure in music. Chet Faker pressed out another masterpiece with his latest album Hotel Surrender. The album was well worth the wait, Faker hasn’t been wasting his quarantine. The Australian singer has been pressing out EP after EP during the pandemic. Developing a mastery of his instrument is something that this artist is working hard to attain and the music is showing that in a big way.
This album is a must-have because of its sheer versatility. The lyrics are put together with the intended purpose of finding that common emotional thread in all of us. In our opinion, we haven’t seen a songwriter piano man combo this good since Billy Joel or Elton John. If you listen closely to Faker’s music you can feel and hear how to layout the pain and let it go. This is one of his finest moments and best records to date.
