Sonreal Deposits New Single “Bank On Me”
If Gandalf and Joe Rogan had a baby and that baby became a shroom-popping rapper you have SonReal. The Canadian musician just gave us one more reason to love our neighbors from the north. Aaron Hoffman took a wonderful page out of a bedtime storybook to bring eager fans the visual to his new single “Bank On Me”. This record is a jumpy, bumpy vibe that bounces on some direct deposit subject matter. This will be the first single from the artist since his 2019 project The Aaron LP. A great edgy installment to an elevating musical stature. Let’s find out what he had to say about the track.
“I wrote this song over Zoom with my producer Trevor Muzzy in my mom’s spare bedroom. I think there’s something about having to be more crafty in COVID times that have made us artists have to dig a bit deeper, and it’s definitely made me push harder creatively,” SonReal tells Complex Canada. “The concept for this video came together over FaceTime with my two best friends, [director] Dane Collison, and [manager] Byron Wilson, and we knew we had something special. We literally couldn’t stop laughing coming up with these scenes. We put months of prep into shooting, and in a place where it rains literally every day in the winter, Squamish, B.C. gave us two amazing days to shoot in. It’s one of those videos you can’t re-create.”
