Video Spotlight: Solar Power By Lorde
Lorde have mercy! New Zealand native, Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, has learned how to harness the power of the sun. The new single “Solar Power” is a soft but bright song to celebrate the summer. This song is about letting go of the normal vices of life, and diving into something new. We haven’t heard from Lorde in a while so it’s refreshing to see her back in the light. Solar Power will also be the name of her upcoming album.
Directed by Lorde and Joel Kefali, the video for this record is precisely matched to the music. The crew hit the beach for some consequential yoga, dancing, and, magical horn passing. The idea is getting out of the winter, the cold, and embracing shadowless freedom. Dancing the way out of confinement is probably the most liberating way to make your escape.
