Video Spotlight: Still Broke By Samm Henshaw
The best thing that could possibly happen to a record is for it to be adorned with a visual that it rightly deserves. Samm Henshaw is undressing songs from his debut album Untidy Soul. The new song “Still Broke” is such an enthralling vibe it’s unbelievable that the creative team procured a video to match. Henshaw released an incredibly successful EP back in 2015 but has been quiet since. We gladly excuse Henshaw because we know the wait will be well worth it.
Henshaw was born and raised by Nigerian parents in South London. Henshaw grew up with music but not in the conventional sense. Nobody in his household played an instrument but there was always sound running through the house, which highly influenced his musical nature. Samm essentially found his love for music and learned to play instruments in his church pastored by his father, where he developed his abilities further. Henshaw spent his secondary years at Cleeve Park School, then went on to study a popular music performance degree at Southampton Solent.
The visual concept for the video was written and directed by Jim Pilling. The production was handled by Francesca Di Muro at VIDSETT. The group delivered dazzling shots and views and did not forget to include that English cheeky humor that we all know and love. Samm has a truly remarkable vocal ability that shines through the project to make it golden.
