As a first full-length studio album this “Collapsed In Sunbeams” Is about as good as it gets. Arlo Parks unfortunately has just canceled her tour to complement this superb album. Sometimes the timing is not right and certain things must be postponed in order to give them the dignity and time that they deserve. The artist, in our opinion, made the right decision to cancel her tour because of the pandemic.

The only reason that we think that it is the right move with this particular album is that we think it is that good. We think that the industry would be disappointed with the numbers that Arlo would produce with the protocols that are in place right now. That being said this is an album that should not be overlooked by anyone.

When you look at the way the songs are arranged on this project, it is hard for anyone not to be impressed with the way the whole project is delivered to the listener. It is the perfect album to be touring with. We like the fact that it is led with poetry the likes of “Stoned Immaculate” by Jim Morrison.

This artist is the real deal and we consider her songwriting and vocal timing to be on point with the likes of Taylor Swift. It’s a pleasure to hear such an earthmoving album created by such a powerful artist. Hopefully, the tour cancellation will not delay this artist’s beginning of a blooming career.

Overall we give this debut album by Arlo Parks to giant pinkies up because it is really difficult to put together a project like this. Arlo has taken her own voice and her own songs to a heightened level and arranged them in such a way that is absolutely mind-blowing. This is a great album and highly recommended by this publication. A really different and refreshing music experience.
