Bubbling Box is an independent editorial and music-discovery website operated by Chetuno Ebuwa. This policy explains what information we collect through bubblingbox.com, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Artist and music submissions. A submission may include an artist or representative name, contact email, role, location, biography, release information, credits, website and social links, listening links, cover artwork, artwork descriptions, private editorial notes, radio preferences, a direct audio link or MP3 file, and records of the permissions you select.

Comments. When visitors leave comments, WordPress collects the information shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent information to help detect spam. An anonymized version of an email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether a profile image is available. Once a comment is approved, the commenter’s displayed name, comment and profile image may be public.

Technical information and cookies. The site and its service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, timestamps, security logs and cookie information needed to operate, secure and improve the website. Commenters may choose to save their name, email address and website in cookies for convenience. Administrators and registered users receive login and preference cookies.

How We Use Information

• Review, organize and respond to editorial, community and radio submissions.
• Verify that a submitter is the artist or an authorized representative.
• Edit, publish and promote selected artist materials in accordance with the permissions granted on the submission form.
• Store and stream an approved audio file through Bubbling Box Radio when the separate radio permission is selected.
• Send submission receipts, editorial questions, decisions or other necessary communications.
• Operate community comments, prevent spam and abuse, maintain security and troubleshoot the website.
• Comply with applicable law, resolve rights disputes and preserve records of permissions.

What May Be Public

If a submission is selected, artist names, biographies, general location, release information, credits, artwork, public media links and edited submission text may be displayed publicly. Approved audio, track artwork and track information may be presented through Bubbling Box Radio only when the radio permission has been granted.

Contact email addresses, the submitter’s private note and internal editorial records are not intentionally published. Please do not include private or sensitive information in an artist biography, release story, artwork or other material intended for publication.

Music, Artwork and Permission Records

Submitting material does not transfer ownership to Bubbling Box and does not guarantee publication or airplay. The form requests a non-exclusive permission for the uses described there. Radio playback requires a separate affirmative permission. Bubbling Box may keep a record of the permission, the submitted track and related correspondence for editorial, operational, archival, security or legal purposes.

An artist or authorized representative may ask Bubbling Box to stop future radio playback. We will act on a verified request within a reasonable period, but removal cannot reverse broadcasts, publications, social posts, downloads or third-party sharing that already occurred.

Embedded Services and External Links

Articles and submissions may link to or embed services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and social networks. Those services may collect information, place cookies or monitor interactions as though you visited their sites directly. Their own privacy policies govern that activity. Bubbling Box does not control third-party websites.

When Information Is Shared

Information may be processed by companies that help host, secure, back up, deliver email, manage forms, prevent spam or operate the website. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the site, investigate fraud or abuse, or resolve ownership and rights claims. Public submission material may be viewed and shared by site visitors. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for submission review, editorial and community records, radio operations, security, backups, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Comments and their metadata may be retained while the related discussion remains published. Selected or published submissions, audio permissions and necessary rights records may be retained while the content or radio feature remains active and for a reasonable archival or legal period afterward. Information that is no longer needed may be deleted or anonymized.

Your Choices and Requests

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with you. You may also withdraw future radio playback permission or ask that unpublished submission materials be removed. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting, and we may retain limited information when required for security, legal compliance or the record of a rights decision.

To make a request, contact Bubbling Box through the contact method provided in your submission correspondence or through any current contact form published on the site. Address the request to Chetuno Ebuwa and include enough information to identify the relevant submission or comment.

Children’s Privacy

Bubbling Box is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly solicit personal information from them. A minor who submits music should involve a parent or legal guardian where required. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, please contact us so we can review and remove it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, email or storage system can guarantee absolute security, so submitters should not provide passwords, government identification, financial information or other unnecessary sensitive data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the website, submission program, radio feature or applicable practices change. The “Last updated” date will show when revisions were made.
