Video Spotlight: ‘Dancing Rain’ By Anurdha Pal
We are happy to bubble about a globally appealing new single ‘Dancing Rain’. The song was created by tabla maestro Anuradha Pal who is well known in the Hindustani music community. Pal has a compelling drumming style that has captivated audiences all over the world.
In ‘Dancing Rain’, composer Anuradha Pal has gone beyond just being an acclaimed Tabla Maestro. Using Raga Miyan ki Malhaar, Anuradha presents a beautiful never-done-before combination of Sonorous Vocals, lively instrumentals from Indian & Jazz Music, and dancing rhythms, presented as a unique multi-layered percussion ensemble.
The music video for the song appeared on youtube earlier this month. Anuradha Pal’s ‘Dancing Rain’ song recreates the joy, romance & nostalgia of the magical monsoons in India – through an array of musical experiences, emotions, and instruments, thus celebrating Incredible India in all its musical beauty.
This potpourri of amazing world percussion-like Djembe, Taphon, Udu, Kanjira, and Tabla all played expertly by Anuradha along with fantastic contributions by leading musicians like Keith Peters (Bass Guitar), Phil Scarff (Saxophone), Sandeep Ranade (Hindustani Vocals), Farooq Latif (Sarangi), K. Sathya (Keyboards), Krishna Ballesh (Shehnai), Sai Giridhar (Mridangam) Shyam Edwankar (Bongo, Cajon), Soham Munim (Sitar) & Tushar Raturi (Marimba) makes this uplifting music track a fitting tribute to 75 years of Indian Independence.
