From the Inbox: The Legendary Ten Seconds Send “The Lonely Planet” Into Orbit

Some submissions arrive with a biography. This one arrives with coordinates. The Legendary Ten Seconds point toward “The Lonely Planet,” a small cosmic story about a rogue world separated from its parent star and left to drift without a name or a home. It is a wonderfully specific doorway into Sci Fi Hi Fi, the group’s 14-song science-fiction and astronomy concept album.

Released May 7, 2026, “The Lonely Planet” sits at track five. The wider project places Mellotron color inside a folk-rock and art-rock frame, giving its interstellar ideas a distinctly handmade orbit.

The album began taking shape in 2025 and was recorded at Rock Lee in Torquay, with Lord Zarquon mixing and mastering at Rainbow Starshine Studio in Marldon, South Devon. Those grounded studio details make a charming counterweight to a record populated by planets, hyperspace, strange time and the outer dark: big ideas built close to home.

That contrast is what caught our attention here at the Box. “The Lonely Planet” turns an astronomical phenomenon into a character—silent, distant and still moving. It is discovery music with a telescope pointed outward and a human pulse tucked inside the machinery.
