Carrot Top Hospitalized: What Has Been Reported So Far

Carrot Top, the comedian whose real name is Scott Thompson, was hospitalized in Las Vegas on September 18 following a reported suicide attempt. His representative has asked for privacy while he receives care and support, according to The Daily Beast’s reporting.

His representative told TMZ on September 20 that he was awake, breathing independently and improving while remaining hospitalized.

TMZ also reported that his September 21 Luxor performance was canceled. Ticket holders should check directly with their seller or the venue for information about their booking.

There is a separate legal dispute behind some of the surrounding headlines. Singer Brian Evans has sued Thompson over an allegedly unsolicited sexually explicit recording, as outlined in The Daily Beast’s report. Thompson’s legal team has accused Evans of attempted extortion. Evans denies threatening to publish a recording in exchange for a settlement.
