FROM THE INBOX — A weekend discovery sent directly to Bubbling Box by the artist.

Everyone knows the traveler gets the adventure. Freddy Zucchet’s “Penelope’s Odyssey” asks what happens when the person left waiting takes the center of the story instead. That shift in perspective is what pulled this submission out of the pile for us here at the Box.

The Provence-based French songwriter, singer and producer presents the August release as an English-language cinematic-pop retelling of The Odyssey from Penelope’s point of view. His press materials describe a story shaped by love, strength and freedom, giving her more to do than simply mark the days until Odysseus returns.

We like the creative question at its heart: whose story have we been missing while looking toward the horizon? It is an accessible doorway into an old myth, with a woman’s perspective placed at the front of a contemporary song.

Zucchet’s background spans songwriting, music production, stage work and educational projects. In the one-sheet he shared with us, he describes this release as part of a developing English-language direction following his music and shows for audiences in France. That makes this a chance to meet an established creative person exploring a new route, rather than a reason to invent an overnight-success story.

Freddy sent the track directly as we reopened our conversation, complete with a listening link and press package. We are pleased to make a little room for that exchange. Listen to “Penelope’s Odyssey” on your preferred platform. This time, let Penelope steer the boat.
