King Princess’ Girl Violence Gets Another Turn at Full Volume
Some records deserve to outlive the week in which everybody agrees to discuss them. We are making room for one of those return visits.
King Princess released Girl Violence on September 12, 2025. The third album is available on the artist’s official Bandcamp. With its first anniversary just behind us, our interest is in the album as a whole, rather than another hurried verdict on its release campaign.
We covered “House Burn Down” in 2021. Going from that song to a later album gives longtime readers a more satisfying route than being told, yet again, that they should meet an artist they already know.
Try listening without beginning at the biggest song. Let the opening make its introduction, keep the sequence intact for a while, and notice where your attention catches. A title as blunt as Girl Violence invites strong expectations; the useful part is finding out what the actual songs do with them.
This is our recurring argument for keeping artists in the conversation between announcements. A catalog is not a stack of expired campaigns. It is work we can return to with different ears.
If you fell off the trail after an earlier single, here is a clean place to pick it up again.
