Men I Trust Gave Us Two Equus Records. We’re Taking Our Time.

Warm-toned cover photograph for Men I Trust’s Equus Caballus.

Two albums in less than two months is a lot to leave sitting in the “listen later” pile. Men I Trust, we are clearing some space.

Equus Asinus arrived March 19, 2025. Equus Caballus followed on May 6. If one slipped past you, this is a good moment to bring it back into the room.

Caballus opens with “To Ease You” and includes 2025 versions of “Ring of Past,” “Husk” and “Billie Toppy.” That is an interesting invitation for anyone who already knows those titles: return to something familiar, then keep going into the less familiar tracks around it.

We also want to pause on the cover. Donna Ferrato’s photograph captures a crowded, intimate little moment, with Hugo Bernier credited for the graphic design. The warm colors and close framing give it a human quality that is easy to lose when an album becomes a thumbnail.

Both official release pages have the track lists and listening links. Give each album its own evening if you can. There is no obligation to immediately rank one above the other, a habit the internet could probably survive without for a day.

Some music reaches us late. That does not make the discovery less worthwhile. Men I Trust put two records out into the world; we still get to decide how much time to spend with them.

Start with Asinus, or go straight to Caballus. Either way, give the artwork a proper look.
