Milky Chance’s Trip Tape III Is a Mixtape Night Waiting to Happen
There is something wonderfully nosy about a mixtape. We do not just get to hear what musicians make. We get a little closer to what catches their ears.
Milky Chance released Trip Tape III in September 2025, bringing originals, covers, collaborations and remixes into the same project. The duo’s official full-mixtape upload makes it easy to approach as one continuous visit rather than a collection of disconnected search results. You can also find the streaming edition here.
That format is the story for us. An album often arrives with a carefully defined frame. A mixtape can leave the door ajar: a borrowed song over here, a familiar idea wearing different clothes over there. We like the permission to wander without pretending every detour must become a grand statement.
For a low-maintenance evening, put the full upload on and leave the queue alone. When something catches you, follow that track afterward. If it is a cover, visit the original too. If it is a reworking, compare the versions. One record can quietly become several discoveries.
This is a catalog pick, not a claim that the tape has just landed. The pleasure of a good mixtape is that it still works after the release-week conversation has moved on.
