Orlando, Bring Your Dancing Shoes: Daði Freyr Is Coming to Play
Daði Freyr seems to have a song hiding in every corner of his brain. Give the man an idea and somehow we are all dancing. If his imagination came with an off switch, we doubt he would use it.
The Icelandic singer, songwriter and producer is bringing the Too Much Not Enough tour to The Plaza Live in Orlando this Friday, October 2, with BRÍET. The all-ages show starts at 8pm, and Leah and I are ready. Very ready.
What we love about Daði is the combination of musical skill and a completely unembarrassed willingness to have fun. He gives us the impression that almost anything could become a song. Then comes the part that matters: making us want to hear it again.
There is some serious invention behind all that fun. His tour biography describes self-built instruments and handmade visuals alongside the synth-pop. Apparently, making the music was not enough work. He had to get his hands into the equipment and the pictures, too. We appreciate that kind of obsession.
In his 2023 Q&A, he explained that he often starts with beats and sees whether a song develops over them. That sounds like a pretty good afternoon to us. Friday gives Orlando a chance to see where all those ideas have taken him.

Leah’s got her ears on BRÍET, too
BRÍET gives us another reason to be excited about Friday. The Icelandic singer brings personal songwriting and plenty of pop color to the bill, with an award-winning album, Kveðja, Bríet, waiting for anyone meeting her music for the first time. Iceland Airwaves has celebrated both her songwriting and her live performances.
