Parcels, a Tiny Desk and an Excellent Excuse to Stay In

Our backyard screen has seen its share of giant stages. Tonight’s suggestion is a much smaller piece of furniture.

Parcels’ NPR Tiny Desk concert, published October 22, 2025, gathers six songs into one filmed session: “Leaveyourlove,” “Tieduprightnow,” “Ifyoucall,” “Yougotmefeeling,” “Gamesofluck” and “Finallyover.” If you have only caught the band in short clips, this gives you something more substantial to settle into.

The lineup is Jules Crommelin, Louie Swain, Anatole Serret, Patrick Hetherington and Noah Hill. Four are credited with vocals in NPR’s session notes, alongside guitar, keys, bass, drums and percussion. There is plenty to keep your eyes occupied as well as your ears.

The photograph is a wonderfully crowded little scene: bright shirts, instruments squeezed together, shelves full of records and odd objects. Big production can be beautiful. So can seeing the people making the music close enough to notice what they are doing.

The session was produced by Isabella Gomez Sarmiento and directed by Kara Frame. Alanté Serene took the photographs. Those credits deserve a little room beside the band’s.

We are keeping this one in our performance rotation. Put it on, get comfortable, and let the whole session run. Staying in does not have to mean watching something you barely pay attention to.
