SAULT’s Chapter 1 Leaves Room for Pressure—and Possibility

There are mornings when the world has already started shouting before you have found your shoes. On those mornings, we appreciate music that gives us something more useful to sit with.

SAULT released Chapter 1 on January 9, 2026. Its official Bandcamp edition runs through ten tracks, with titles including “Protector,” “Love Does Not Equal Pain” and “Don’t Worry About What You Can’t Control.” Those words alone lay out some of the questions the record invites us to approach.

Our suggested route begins with the album itself, not the mystery surrounding who is or is not visible around the project. Follow “Chapter 1” into “Fulfil Your Spirit,” then resist the temptation to turn the rest into a checklist. Let the sequence do some work.

We have returned to SAULT before, from “Free” to a wider look at their music. This is another chapter in that interest, not an attempt to announce a January album as a September surprise.

For us, the appeal of coming back is simple: discovery does not expire when release week ends. A record can meet you at a different point in your life and open a different conversation. That possibility is worth keeping on the menu.
