Wasia Project Push ‘Vogue’ Onto the Dance Floor Before Nocturne
Wasia Project are stepping into a bigger, brighter frame. The Chinese-British sibling duo of Will Gao and Olivia Hardy have handed “Vogue” to revered German DJ and producer Gerd Janson, whose remix pulls the song toward the dance floor without sanding away its emotional edge.
The new version arrives just before the duo’s debut album, Nocturne, due September 18 via AWAL. Gao and Hardy bring a foundation in classical training to music that moves easily through orchestral pop, jazz, electronic textures and sharp modern songwriting. That range has become part of their identity: songs can feel carefully composed and completely spontaneous at the same time.
“Vogue” is an ideal bridge into the album. Janson gives its rhythm more room to move, revealing how naturally Wasia Project’s melodies can travel from headphones to a crowded room. Behind that momentum is a record concerned with youth, identity and the complicated feeling of becoming visible while still learning who you are.
Our Take
We love how the remix expands the duo’s world instead of simply making it louder. What stands out to us is the tension between elegance and release—the classical discipline is still there, but now it is smiling under the lights. Wasia Project feel ready for the scale of the moment, and Nocturne sounds positioned to introduce a genuinely distinctive voice.
