Maribou State Leave the Workshop Door Open on Hallucinating Love Deluxe

A finished record is only one version of its own story. Somewhere behind it are the sketches, the alternate routes and the ideas that needed another pair of hands. Maribou State are letting us into some of that space.

Hallucinating Love Deluxe arrived digitally on August 21, 2026. The three-LP edition is scheduled for October 30, according to Ninja Tune’s release page—two dates worth keeping separate if you are planning a listen or a purchase.

The expanded project places the original album alongside demos and remixes. In the duo’s accompanying note, they point to “Together” among the demo material and include their own work among the remix contributions. That makes the deluxe edition an opportunity to hear a record from more than one angle, rather than simply watch its running time grow.

Try this: hear a finished song, then seek out its alternate form. What has been removed? What became the thing everything else turns around? You do not have to produce music to enjoy those questions. They are a way of getting closer to the choices that make a song feel complete.

We have previously followed a branch of this creative world through Shire T’s “Blue Kiss.” This time we are returning to the partnership at the center. For curious listeners, a workshop with the door left open is a very attractive place to spend an afternoon.
